Toddler Picks Ballot Order

A toddler’s grasp will be remembered for its roll in the 2014 St. Clair County general primary election. At County Clerk Tom Holbrook’s office yesterday, 18-month-old Skylar Barnes withdrew lettered capsules from a box to determine the order of candidates in eight races on the ballot for the March 18th general primary election.  The letter of the capsule, A or B, decided whose name went first or second on a ballot.  The lottery was used because all of the candidates filed their petitions at the same time.
