St. Charles County Officer Pleads No Contest

Dion E. Wilson, an officer with the Lake St. Louis Police Department and one of four officers charged in the beating of a wanted meth cook, entered a plea of no contest to a misdemeanor of peace disturbance.  The plea does not admit guilt but it does mean that the defendant understands that the prosecutors have enough evidence to convict at trial.  Officer Wilson was assisting members of the East Central Drug Force with the arrest of Phillip Alberternst, wanted on felonies related to making methamphetamine, when he and three other officers entered the house Alberternst was staying illegally.  During the arrest excessive force was used, however Alberternst had not resisted.
