School Superintendents Ask Lawmakers For Help
Missouri lawmakers are debating a change of the school transfer law amid pleas of help and finical aid from area school superintendents. Yesterday Chris Nicastro, Missouri’s Education Commissioner along with several area superintendents met with a panel of legislators for hours, debating over the amount of money a receiving district should charge an unaccredited school, according to the “Post Dispatch”. Riverview Gardens Superintendent Scott Spurgeon said it felt as if his district was giving their money away. Panelist Rep. Ronald Hick of St. Peters said he didn’t want to keep putting money into a system that’s broken.
