Police Consider Drones To Fight Crime

The St. Louis Police department is considering the use of drones as way to fight crime and keep an eye on dangerous neighborhoods.  St. Louis Police chief Sam Dotson is pushing forward with plans for a drone noting they cost less than 100-thousand-dollars, and do the same work as a police helicopter, which costs one-point-five-million.  Noting that a drone gives the police capability to monitor a suspect from a distance and avoid high speed chases then when its safe for officers and safe for the community, authorities can move in and an arrest can be made.  KMOV reports, he wants to talk about it and get feedback so everyone understands the role of a drone in police activity.
